How to Return an Audible Book
Return Audible Books on the Desktop Site
- Go to your Account Details page on the Audible desktop site.
- Click Purchase History.
- Click Return next to the book you want to return.
- Select your reason for return, then click Return.
After returning your audiobook, you will receive confirmation indicating the return was successful.
Return Audible Books on the Mobile Site
- Go to www.audible.com on your device and sign into your account.
- Tap Menu and then My Account.
- Tap Purchase History.
- Tap on the book you want to return.
- Tap Return.
- Choose the reason why you want to return the book and tap Return.
After returning your audiobook, you will receive a confirmation on screen indicating the return was successful.
Note: if you see Online Return Unavailable, you will need to contact Audible Customer Care to initiate the return.

What type of refund will I get from Audible?
You will be refunded with the same method of payment you used to purchase the title. For example:
- Titles purchased with credits will be refunded with credits.
- Titles purchased with a coupon will be refunded with a new coupon.
Members who purchased their title with a credit(s) will receive their credit(s) back immediately to use for their next Audible purchase. Members who purchased a title with another form of payment will receive their refund in approximately 7 to 10 business days, depending on the issuing financial institution.
Can non-members return or exchange books with Audible?
Non-members can return or exchange 2 titles every 6 months by contacting Audible Customer Service. Contact options include chat, phone, and email.
Why can’t I exchange my Audible book?
If you see a title is “not eligible for return” you still may be able to return or exchange by contacting Audible. According to Audible, only a certain number of titles can be returned using the online tool. After that, Audible wants to talk to you to understand what it is you’re not liking and make some recommendations to help you find a better listen. As a reminder, your request to return an audiobook should be within 365 days of the original purchase.
How many times can I exchange an Audible book?
There does not appear to be an exact number of times you can exchange an Audible book. According to the Audible Exchange Policy, in instances where Audible finds the benefit is being overused it may, at its sole discretion, limit the number of exchanges and refunds allowed by each member, including, but not limited to, the loss of this benefit where Audible suspects abuse of the spirit of the program. Eligibility for this program ends immediately if a customer cancels or fails to maintain his or her membership in good standing. Audible may cancel or modify the terms applicable to the program with respect to any or all participants at any time.
